CLINICAL OFFICER

Job Summary

DMI Centre is seeking to recruit a Clinical Officer on an annual contract, with extension subject to funds availability and performance of the incumbent.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Promote the mission, vision and values of the organization.
  • Giving appropriate management to patients/clients (history taking, examination, treatment, health education at the clinic and appropriate referrals).
  • Promote programs and organization visibility.
  • Participate in community out-reach and health care providers training programs;
  • Ensure that the clinic environment is safe and complies with infection control standards.
  • Ensure proper and cost effective use of resources
  • Collecting and compiling clinical data
  • Ensure accurate and secure documentation of activities is kept.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all activities to preserve the dignity of patients and clients.
  • Maintain a good record keeping system and undertake continuous monitoring and regular evaluation of the activities.
  • Ensure that insulin supplies and other commodities stocks are monitored.
  • Take part in program planning, proposal writing, documenting best practices and monitoring project activities.
  • Perform other activities as per the need of the organization with guidance from the supervisor.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial and legal information.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients/clients, staff, partners or others in a professional manner.

Qualification and Experience

  • Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery or Clinical Medicine and Community Health from a recognized institution Certificate of Registration by Clinical Officers’ Council
  • A valid practicing license from the Clinical Officers; Council
  • Mid-level Experience Length: At least 2 years’ exposure to hospital management systems will be an added advantage
  • Experience on gender and economic empowerment, Diabetes/NCDs and NGO experience will be considered as an asset.
  • Must have attended a certified diabetes training course.
  • Valid certificate of good conduct is mandatory.
