NUTRITIONIST AND DATA ENTRY CLERK

Job Summary

DMI Centre is seeking to recruit a Nutritionist and data entry clerk on an annual contract, with extension subject to funds availability and performance of the incumbent.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Promote the mission, vision and values of the organization.
  • Conducting nutrition advocacy, nutrition assessments and reviews
  • Developing, implementing and reviewing nutrition healthcare plans
  • Providing nutrition health education and demonstrations.
  • Developing and disseminating nutrition information, education, promotion and communication materials
  • Providing nutrition support in patient management and counselling patients with specific nutritional needs
  • Facilitating training on nutrition, conducting nutritional research and preparing reports
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial and legal information.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients/clients, staff, partners or others in a professional manner.
  • Scanning through and identifying pertinent information, entering and updating it into relevant databases and backing up all data.
  • Identifying errors in data, informing relevant parties and effecting correcting corrections as advised.
  • Storing hard copies of data in an organized manner to optimize retrieval.
  • Updating the DMI website and social media pages.
  • Perform other activities as per the need of the organization with guidance from the supervisor.

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in: Food, Nutrition and dietetics or Dietetics/ Clinical Nutrition or Food Science and Nutrition or Home Economics and Nutrition or equivalent from a recognized institution or
  • Have a Certificate or Diploma or Degree in Community Nutrition and Dietetics from Kenya Medical Training College or recognized institution and at least 2 years experience in a Diabetes/NCD organization.
  • Registered with Kenya Nutrition and Dietetic Institute (KNDI).
  • Valid practicing certificate.
  • Attended a certified diabetes training course.
  • Valid certificate of good conduct is mandatory.
