PROJECT ACCOUNTANT

Job Summary

DMI Centre is looking for a highly-analytical and qualified Project Accountant on an annual contract, with extension subject to funds availability and performance of the incumbent.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Promote the mission, vision and values of the organization.
  • Responsible for the financial health of DMI by managing the financial procedures.
  • Planning budgets, participating in audits, monitoring transactions, and preparing invoices.
  • Create and implement financial policies to guarantee operational efficiency.
  • Oversee the preparation and planning of budgets.
  • Maintain records and receipts for all daily transactions.
  • Ensure financial records are kept up-to-date with the latest transactions and changes.
  • Contribute to financial audits.
  • Monitor all bank deposits and payments.
  • Perform periodic financial analysis to detect and resolve problems in line with DMI’s strategic plan.
  • Prepare and present financial statements to the board and other stakeholders.
  • Make sure that any budget request is prepared in detail and in line with the agreement and policy and also the plan in the project document.
  • Promote project and organization visibility.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all medical, financial and legal information.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations involving patients/clients, staff, partners or others in a professional manner.
  • Perform other activities as per the need of the organization with guidance from the supervisor.

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field.
  • CPA Certification or a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes.
  • Experience on gender and economic empowerment and NGO experience will be considered as an asset.
  • Valid certificate of good conduct is mandatory.
